The Undergraduate Certificate is available to any Georgia State University student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and you can apply by completing the application through the HOW TO APPLY link below. Students should declare their certificate as early as possible, but they may declare up to their graduation date, as long as all requirements are met. For certificates with a capstone, we recommend applying at least one semester before your expected graduation. You will receive an email notification about the status of your application within a week of submission.

The Editing and Publishing Certificate offers students hands-on experience and practical skills for careers in editorial fields. By learning the fundamentals of editing, publishing and content development, students prepare for the dynamic world of media, literature and corporate communication.
With this certificate, graduates can pursue careers as editors, proofreaders, publishing assistants, podcasters and content developers. Opportunities span traditional publishing, digital media, non-profits and education, where polished communication and editorial skills are keys to success.
Program Details
The program requires completion of 15 semester hours along with a non-credit capstone course. Courses taken as part of a Georgia State University certificate program count toward the requirements of the certificate and may also count toward core curriculum, major and minor requirements
